How to book you for an event?
I’m thrilled you are interested in bringing me in as a speaker to your organization! I have given presentations to libraries, museums, college classes, women’s organizations, writers groups, reading groups, Regency societies, and many Jane Austen organizations and events. Depending on the focus of your group, the talks can be presented with either a Regency focus or an “in the time of Jane Austen” focus. Use the Contact page to ask me about speaking at your event. Provide a date or possible dates. Indicate which presentation or presentations are of interest to you. Let me know if it’s an in-person event or virtual.

How much do you charge for your speaking engagements?
It’s negotiable. If your organization has a fixed honorarium, I typically accept that. A virtual presentation requires a minimum of $150. The cost for in-person events vary, and must include any travel expenses.
-
Is there a difference between your in-person talks and your virtual talks?
The only difference is that during an in-person talk I interact with the audience more. Plus, I often bring relevant items from my collections for attendees to view. But the content of the presentation is the same whether in-person or virtual.

What is required for in-person events?
All my presentations use PowerPoint, so a screen and projector are required. I prefer to bring a thumb drive with the presentation, and rely on the event space or organizer to provide a laptop and all appropriate connections. I also require a podium with enough space for my notes.
If the presentation includes items from my collections for attendees to view (eg fans, jewelry, silhouettes, etc) I need a 6-foot table for display.
