Dear friends,

I'm excited to announce that Lady Be Bad is now available! I've seen it in several stores as early as last week, but the official on-sale date is today. Advance reviews have been terrific. Library Journal says: "Exquisitely sensual, brilliantly plotted, and laced with wicked wit, this latest addition to Hern's Merry Widows series sparkles with rare fire." Historical Romance Writers says: "A dazzling and heartwarming finale. ... Sensual with a perfectly scrumptious love story." Romance Reader at Heart calls it "an utterly perfect read."

I hope all those lovely reviews will tempt you to dash and and buy the book, especially this week when sales are most important to my publisher. Order your copy today!

I've posted a peek Behind the Scenes of Lady Be Bad on my website. Learn why I used the name Rochdale for the hero.

I'm celebrating the release of Lady Be Bad with lots of contests. First, there is the August contest on my website where one lucky winner will receive an authentic Regency era fashion print from my own collection. You have to read the book to win. Check my website for details.

Also, TODAY ONLY, I am running a special Book Release Day contest on my discussion board. All you have to do is post something on the board today, and I will pick a winner at random from all the day's posts. The winner will receive a special package from Benefit Cosmetics, including some of their Bad Girl products (which seemed appropriate for this book).

And tomorrow, August 8, I will announce another contest that will run on the discussion board through the end of the month. The prize is a beautiful Murano glass heart pendant, but you'll have to do something special to win it. Check back on the discussion board tomorrow for details.

I also wanted to share with you some recent good news for my books. Just One of Those Flings won the National Readers' Choice Award for Best Historical Romance of 2006, and In the Thrill of the Night won the Booksellers' Best Award for Best Short Historical Romance of 2006. I am absolutely thrilled to have won, and am especially pleased that each book won an award, one judged by readers, the other judged by booksellers.

Thanks again, everyone, for all your support and encouragement. Please help me boost my sales numbers on this book by purchasing it THIS WEEK, preferrably at Borders, Waldenbooks, or Brentano's.

Cheers,

~ Candice Hern
